Green Materials Technology Committee

Purpose/Objectives

  •  To promote the significant impact of using green building materials on reducing carbon emissions in construction and advance the recognition of green building materials in Hong Kong society.
  • To engage closely with relevant departments of Hong Kong government to facilitate the formulation, implementation, and promotion of policies related to green building materials. To utilize green building materials to drive the development of construction industry.
  • In line with the Hong Kong government's 2050 carbon neutrality goal, encourage industry stakeholders to work together in gradually enhancing the use of suitable green and low-carbon building materials while meeting architectural design requirements and promoting the sustainable green development in buildings.
  • To collaborate with university to research and develop new and highly efficient green and low-carbon building materials and organizations to exchange technical knowledge and insights. Foster the advancement of green and low-carbon building material technologies.
  • To provide a platform for stakeholders to communicate, gather industry insights, and present suggestions for industry enhancement. To drive the long-term development of green building materials.
  • To promote a culture of green and low-carbon practices, advocate the sharing of societal values, reduce energy consumption, lower carbon footprints, and collectively address climate change while safeguarding the natural environment.
  • To popularize the application of green and low-carbon building materials and expand their related applications, enhance corporate social responsibility and social image, attract greater participation from industry stakeholders, and promote a broader scope of social sustainability and development.
